Steve’s Favorite Slip Stitch Scarf Steve’s Favorite Slip Stitch Scarf and matching Headband:

Steve’s chosen a handsome scarf and headband that will keep him warm and looking good in the city or on the slopes. The slip stitch is fun to work and works up into a lovely pattern in the handpainted yarns.

This pattern offers the knitter a choice of two styles of scarf and both a single layer and a double layer headband for extra warmth. Let the winds blow!

Dimensions: ~7.25" wide. The 1 skein LL seaman’s scarf is 44" long(ends 15", center 14"). My straight scarf measures 60" long.

Please read the pattern through before casting on.
Materials:
Needles - 2 size US 7(4.5mm) needles and 2 size US 6 (4.25mm) needles or size to achieve gauge.

Yarn (A) - Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted (225 yards/skein)or any worsted weight yarn. Shown in Purple Club. 1 skein for seaman’s type scarf, 2 skeins for straight scarf.

Gauge - 21sts/4ins over pattern.

Needles - 2 size US 6 (4.25mm) needles and 2 size US 5 (4mm) needles or size to achieve gauge.

Yarn (B) - ANDEE wool/alpaca (50/50) handpainted yarn, 500 yd/8oz skein. 1 skein will make 1 lined headband and 60“ straight scarf. Shown in denim.

Gauge: 22sts/4ins over pattern.

You may substitute any worsted weight yarn and needles to get the fabric that you prefer. Lorna‘s Laces is a heavier worsted weight and Andee is a light worsted, hence the different needle sizes suggested.
