 I taught myself to knit when I was 17 years old out of "the little green book" (Learn How Book by The Spool Cotton Company) where many accomplished knitters have learned their skill. I bought a skein of yarn and size 6 needles and proceeded to knit ribbed knit hats for every member of my family and every friend I had. The girls got pom poms on top and the boys got plain. I have been knitting for 31 years now, hereby revealing my age. David is my husband of 22 years and he, my family, my dogs, and knitting are the great passions in my life. My family will tell you they think I'm more passionate about knitting and dogs. David & I have 2 sons and 2 daughters all grown - to go along with the furbabes that still live at home - Cocoa. the miniature schnauzer and Teddy, the Yorkie. My best female friend is my mother. She and I have a unique relationship not often found in mothers and daughters. My idea of a good time is sitting in matching recliners knitting with Mom while David is cooking steaks on the grill and making margaritas in the blender. :-) My schnauzer and yorkie and her poodle are happily cuddled in the recliners with us, of course. I closed my tax and accounting business in 2000 to devote more time to the important things in life. Knitting and designing have become one of those things and I started my e-business in 2001 offering custom hand knit items of all kinds specializing in sweaters for dogs and intarsia sweaters for people.
