Mosaic Scrap Afghan
Mosaic Scrap Afghan Mosaic Scrap Afghan - Close-up
This afghan was knitted for my son Michael. I used a combination of Bernat, Patons and Phentex 100% acrylic knitting worsted yarn with 4 mm straight needles. Each square (4") was knitted separately and then sewn together to make a 5' by 5' afghan square. I was trying to use up some of my acrylic yarn that I still have in my stash. I barely made a dent in what I have left!

Anyway, to trim the sides, I made a tri-colour I-cord and changed one of the colours approximately every 4-6". What a fun project, it took me 1 year working on it off and on at lunchtime. I used one of Barbara Walker's mosaic patterns and designed another 7 myself, so there are 8 mosaic patterns used on 264 squares in the afghan.
